The Downtown dining scene has gained two more tasty options with the openings of Glutton and VegeNation, located at 616 East Carson Avenue, at the northwest corner of 7th Street and Carson Avenue.

The restaurants join long-time tenant A Cut Above the Rest Barbershop, which has been in the building since 2001. In coming months, the space will also welcome Zydeco Po-Boys, a Cajun-style quick casual restaurant.

Glutton features an eclectic menu of New American cuisine, including savory meats, locally sourced produce, house-made pastas and seafood from the Pacific Northwest created by local chef Bradley Manchester.

Glutton also features barrel-aged cocktails, such as the Glutton for Punishment, (Seagram’s gin, Cointreau and Krogstad aquavit), six craft beers on draft, and a variety of beers and ciders served in cans and bottles. A thoughtful wine list offers bottles and many options for wine-by-the-glass. Glutton is currently open for dinner everyday, and will begin opening for lunch next week.

VegeNation features fresh, global street food by local vegan chef Donald Lemperle with a menu that is 100 percent plant-based. From pizza to sushi to tacos, VegeNation sources local vegetables and fruits whenever possible and uses herbs grown in-house.  A green-rated, eco-friendly restaurant, VegeNation uses locally salvaged materials and compost, and is focused on instituting sustainable practices.

Beyond food, VegeNation also offers signature ‘juicetails,’ mixing locally distilled liquor with cold-press juice.  The restaurant also carries a selection of beer from Southern Nevada brewers. VegeNation is open for lunch and dinner daily.
